Some UKWCB data is public by design, including fighter names, public records, rankings, titles, trophies, event history, video links, profile images, gyms, promoters, venues, staff/official profiles, and public listing information.

Some data is intended to remain restricted, such as private Fight Finder contact details, insider reviews, internal moderation notes, claim audit data, security logs, and admin-only evidence. We restrict this data to authorised users where reasonably possible.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the platform
  • Verify profile ownership and prevent impersonation/fraud
  • Create, display, calculate, and correct profiles, bouts, rankings, trophies, titles, popularity features, live crowns, network features, Fight Finder listings, scorecards, and user dashboards
  • Process purchases and payments
  • Provide support and respond to requests
  • Moderate content, detect unusual entries, prevent spam, protect private contact data, and investigate complaints
  • Improve the site and services

5. Lawful Bases (UK GDPR)

We rely on:

  • Contractual necessity, where processing is needed to provide accounts, listings, submissions, purchases, or requested services.
  • Legitimate interests, including platform integrity, rankings, records, community features, fraud prevention, security, moderation, corrections, support, and dispute handling.
  • Consent, where we ask for optional marketing consent or where a user voluntarily submits optional content, images, contact details, or media for publication/listing.
  • Legal obligation, where we must keep or disclose information for tax, accounting, fraud, consumer, data-protection, safeguarding, law-enforcement, or legal compliance purposes.
  • Legal claims, vital interests, explicit consent, or another UK GDPR condition where we process any information that may be sensitive or special-category data, such as health, injury, safeguarding, or safety information submitted to us.

We do not ask users to submit medical records. If medical, injury, safeguarding, or safety information is sent to us, we will treat it carefully and use it only where relevant and appropriate.

6. Sharing Your Data

We may share data with:

  • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, WooCommerce Payments, Apple Pay)
  • Fulfilment partners (e.g., Printful)
  • Hosting, backup, email, analytics, security, search, and technical providers
  • Video and API providers such as YouTube/Google where videos are embedded or metadata is requested
  • Confirmed promoters, matchmakers, coaches, or admins where a feature is designed to share private Fight Finder contact details or private review tools with that verified group
  • Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law enforcement, courts, or complainants where legally required or reasonably necessary to handle claims, complaints, abuse, or rights disputes

We do not sell personal data.

7. Cookies, Analytics, Embeds, and Tracking

We may use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, security, preferences, shopping carts, analytics, performance, embedded media, spam prevention, and advertising or measurement where enabled.

We may use Google Analytics and related tools to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any cookie controls made available on the site.

Embedded YouTube videos, social media links, payment widgets, maps, adverts, or third-party scripts may set their own cookies or collect their own data under their own privacy policies.

8. Marketing

We may offer newsletters, notifications, event updates, shop offers, or promotional emails. Where consent is required, these will be opt-in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

9. Retention

We retain data as long as needed to provide the service, maintain accurate historical records, operate rankings and trophies, comply with legal obligations, process orders, protect legitimate interests, handle disputes, prevent impersonation, and maintain platform integrity.

Public historical boxing records may remain visible for long periods because the platform depends on historical chronology. Claim moderation records, private reviews, notice records, and audit trails may also be retained for integrity, dispute handling, safeguarding, and legal defence.

10. Your Rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your data. You can object to processing or withdraw consent where applicable.

Some requests may be limited where data is needed for legal obligations, dispute records, fraud prevention, public interest, freedom of expression, historical record integrity, or legitimate platform operation.

Contact: Use the notice & complaint form at /notice-and-complaint/.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

11. Children and Young People

The site is intended for users aged 13+. If you are under 18, you should use the platform with parent/guardian supervision. We may remove, restrict, or limit content relating to young people where appropriate for safety, privacy, safeguarding, or legal reasons.

12. Automated and Algorithm-Assisted Processing

UKWCB uses algorithms and automated or AI-assisted checks for rankings, popularity, trophies, live crowns, fighter networks, moderation flags, duplicate detection, unusual records, unusual height/weight ratios, spam prevention, security, and platform display. These features do not make legal, medical, sanctioning, or similarly significant automated decisions about you.

13. International Transfers

Some service providers, such as hosting, analytics, video, email, payment, or fulfilment providers, may process data outside the UK. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or provider arrangements intended to protect transferred data.

14. How We Protect Your Data

We apply reasonable security measures appropriate to the data we process, including access controls, secure hosting, encrypted connections where available, and least‑privilege access for staff. No system is 100% secure, but we review and improve protections over time.

15. Data Breach Response

If a notifiable breach occurs, we will assess the risk and report to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and affected individuals where required by law.
